The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.
- Edmund Burke (1729-1797) statesman.
If this were a dictatorship, it'd be a heck of a lot easier, just so long as I'm dictator. - George W. Bush (1946-) 43rd President 2001-?.
Power tends to corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. - Lord Acton (1834-1902) Historian.

[Nov 2004] VOTE!!!
[Jan 6 2004] The commercials you may have heard of. Worth the time to view each. (sent by a friend)
[Dec 22 2003] Articles of Impeachment drafted by Ramsey Clark, former U.S. Attorney General during the Johnson Administration.
[Dec 8] The warnings of Orwell's 1984 have been ignored to the determent of the principles of the founding of this country. The puppetmasters behind W have used Orwell as a roadmap. This audio clip by Mike Malloy addresses some of the key ideas used by Karl Rove in the Bush speeches.
[Dec 5] It's a trick but typing the phrase miserable failure into Google™ will get (in top position) the official government biography of that truly miserable failure of which I happen to share only first name and two initials. How it was done is covered in this Newsday story. Which simply proves that Google™ and other search engines are as easy to rig as an election machine.
[Nov 10] Just how insidious the display of the confederate flag is not realized by many people. It took decades for me to see that this is both racist and treasonous. I simply thought that it was a quaint affectation and I am sure that a few people that display it do not give it any thought. But they should. I suspect that Howard Dean, as I used to, did not realize at the time what most people mean when they display this symbol of the failed rebellion against the United States. This symbol of wanting to keep the economic power bought at the price of enslavement. Of trying to justify the thought of superiority by degrading others.
[Oct 22] Why is it the people who have a knee jerk reaction (read NRA) to any form of gun control always shorten the second amendment and then leave out the comma. The second amendment in it's entirety: A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.Brady Center information on the second amendment.
[Oct 8] Is the election of California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger another case of election rigging by voting machine? Or is it just a combination of the frustration of national failed economy, and the fact the Arnold wouldn't take any political stand so confused the voters that they thought he agreed with them!
[Sept 22] What won't happen at the UN. W will not make the apology that he should. He will not admit he has the leadership abilities of a stone and intelligence to match.
[Sept 11] 9/11 a sad remembrance. Two years since the attack that took place on U.S. soil. But it was an attack on the world. An attack on civilization. The nearly 3,000 that died were not only U.S. citizens but people from many countries. And the world stood ready to try to root out the evil behind those attacks, right there beside the U.S.
[Sept 10] Conservative William F. Buckley Jr. proclaims Bush is Evil. OK I took this slightly out of context. He did title a column this and when I read it I, for a fleeting second, thought he had seen the truth. Another conservative publication (I'm not providing the link, you can find it with Google™ if you want) proclaims Our Founding Fathers got it almost completely wrong. Do you think our founding fathers got it wrong?
[Sept 6] One of the most literate blogs I have ever read. Written by a 24 year old woman survivor of the war living in Baghdad. Should be read by everyone (even those whom might say it is a fake) because it has the ring of truth to it.
[Sept 5] On July 3, 2003 Bush declared, Bring 'em on. Sadly this is exactly what a faction in Iraq has been doing and will continue to do. Though the war was planned well before he was elected, there was no plan of what to do once the main battles were done. And we can't just pull out. We broke Iraq and we must repair it. Yet there is no leadership in this country. Oh sure there is talk, but no real planning. It seems that only way to make sure our brave people are not bogged down in Iraq for years and decades to come is to make a change in the leadership here! Bring 'em on.
[Sept 4] So George, how do you feel about your mom and dad?
[Aug 28] One of protesters worshipping the hunk of granite in Alabama opens his mouth to prove my point upon hearing the block had been moved saying Get your hands off my God. I've decided not to point out the places in the Bible that speak about idolatry (you have actually read the ten commandments?) but a more general warning KJV: Matthew 24:24. Open that Bible you've been thumping and read it.
[Aug 26] Bible Thumper. If you look up the term in a dictionary it will say it is offensive and try to give a definition like disparaging term for a Christian, especially a fundamentalist or evangelical Christian. It has a much deeper meaning. It describes a person who wants to impose their personal beliefs on another in any way possible. It likely is because their beliefs are so shallow that they feel threatened that anyone might believe anything slightly different. And as for the bible they are thumping, either literally or figuratively, its really unlikely they have ever really read it or even understood it if they have. They forget that this country was founded not on religion but religious freedom. If instead of Christianity that they claimed to be be espousing it was Buddhism, Hindu, or any other how would you feel. If that block granite sitting in the Alabama State Supreme Court were a monument to some other religion, the Jewish version of the Ten Commandments, or a golden calf how would you feel. Chief Justice Roy Moore is a bible thumper of the worst kind. A person sworn to uphold the law, especially the U.S. Constitution, saying to all of us that if we don't believe exactly his way we are all going to hell, and that he himself is above the very law he swore to uphold.
[Aug 24] If your wondering what the shrub, er I mean Bush, has to do with salmon you really don't have to look any further than the Bush family ties to the Rev. Sun Myung Moon and his dominance of the U.S. fishing industry. And then there is Don Rumsfeld who deigned to answer a 9 year old girls question about Iraq. Amazing until you find out who the girl is and who really wrote the question.
[Aug 23] Maybe I should turn this into a real blog, though I've been writing in computer languages for too many years I question my ability to write in real english (please no comments from the UK about what we in the US call english). This latest train of thought has me again thinking of labels, what we call things, people, actions. In particular the labels Democrat, Republican, Liberal and Conservative. I again today find I'm talking about myself as an extreme liberal when I am speaking to republican friends, but in reality what I really am is a Constitutional conservative. I may call myself a democrat but I really am not fond of the two party system (no, there are no other real parties in this country at a truly national level). You will find that on this page I speak mostly of neorepublicans, because the politicians that call themselves republicans these days are not. They are extremists and they are in power. They are a part of the extreme right wing conspiracies. I do mean plural because there are several overlapping ones. Their goals are the opposite of the principals that are the foundation of this country. Two of the conspiracies would have this country a theocracy like Iran. One conspiracy believes that only unrestricted capitalism is the way to run a country. These are some of the more obvious forces behind the neorepublicans. And so far they have kept quiet about Arnold Schwarzenegger, who is way too liberal for them, because they want an in in California. What are real Republicans to do? I don't know. I don't know if it would help them to know the the original Republican party was a spin-off of the Democrats. I don't know if it would help them to know that members of the Democrat party that call themselves moderates or progressives would have been called Republicans not so long ago. I just don't know if labels are really useful anymore.
Editorial opinion - If the leader of any country were to call up the voters of that country and tell them who to vote for there would be a loud uproar here in the US. When (P)resident George W. Bush did it here (2002) why is there not at least a debate about the ethics, if not the legality of this?
Editorial opinion - Donald Rumsfeld forget shock and awe this man is the master of Shuck 'n Jive.
Editorial opinion - Because I am a great believer in religious freedom and the separation of church and state, I have come also to believe that one of the biggest threats to the United States (next to Bin Laden) comes from the Rev. Sun Myung Moon.
He, like Bin Laden, is a fascist pretending to be a theocrat. However his threat comes from within. His support through many channels of many public officials has led to an unacceptable influence on the government. Most of these are neorepublicans that bear little resemblance to the republicans of the era of Eisenhower and before. Maybe they, like Moon, believe it is no sin to lie for the "greater" good. Maybe they really believe he is the second coming sent here since Jesus "failed". Maybe they just want to be elected at "any cost".
Investigate what Moon believes and what he owns for yourself.
moral majority was neither and the same with fair and balanced™ (isn't it amazing what you can tradmark?)(disclaimer: all trademarks are trademarks of their respective companies!)(I just found 1400 fair and balanced references on government sites without the ™. Fox better sue them or risk losing the ™ status of those words!!!). En hommage (it's the French spelling) to fair and balanced; I wouldn't bother clinking this one, it's mostly there to tweak Fox's (News Corp.) nose. It's a parody Rupert. It's protected under the first amendment. Get over it!
While gerrymandering is certainly not new, Texas seems to be bringing it to new lows. Maybe its time we slay this monster. The Constitution in no way requires districting, lets elect our representatives statewide rather than on some cunning mapping driven by politics!
The U.S. Constitution - you should at least look at the first three words, written larger than all the rest! (Did you know that this, the basis for our entire form of government, can be read aloud in less than a half-hour?)
The Real Big Brother - DARPA - IAO - TIA (web pages recreated as they were originally)
Will the government shut down the MIT site that was supposed to give the public the same kind of tools to track the government that DARPA (above) was supposed to be building for the government to spy on it's people?
Pat Robertson again shows his ignorance by suggestion that Arnold Schwarzenegger will next be cast as a presidential candidate!
On the subject of Arnold Schwarzenegger, why would anyone vote for a man who scripts are going to come from the neorepublicans that caused most of the problems in California in the first place. A man who supports government mandated English only. And he can't even remember he already made T3, it was called T2 (of course given the numbers the public doesn't seem to remember they already saw this movie).
You just got an email that says you should forward it to everyone you know - what do you do?

Could an U.S. led coup 50 years ago have led to much of todays's terrorism? (Also in the book All the Shah's Men) Notice two familiar names involved; Roosevelt and Schwarzkopf.

Stolen directly from Too Stupid to be President - (I added links to Google News)
Q: If Martha Stewart makes two or three calls to an executive before dumping $200,000 worth of his company's stock and the Secretary of the Army, Thomas White (a former Enron executive), makes 77 calls to Enron executives while dumping tens of millions in stock, why is the SEC only investigating Stewart?
A: Guess which one is a Democrat.
Some major leaders from the past you should know more about.
I support my country all of the time, and the government when it deserves it. - Mark Twain (Samuel Langhorne Clemens 1835-1910) author and humorist.
Those who cast the votes decide nothing, those who
count the votes decide everything.
- Joseph Stalin (1879-1953) dictator of the USSR for almost 25 years Its failings notwithstanding, there's much to be said in favor of journalism in that by giving us the opinion of the uneducated, it keeps us in touch with the ignorance of the community. - Oscar Wilde (1854 - 1900) author, playwright, and poet.
On supply side economy -
If you feed the horse enough oats, some will pass through to the road for the sparrows. - John Kenneth Galbraith (1908-) economist - advisor to Presidents Roosevelt government Johnson.
On political systems-
Under capitalism, man exploits man. Under communism, it's just the opposite. - John Kenneth Galbraith (1908-)
It is the deed that teaches, not the name we give it. Murder and capital punishment are not the opposites that cancel one another, but similars that breed the same kind. - George Bernard Shaw (1856-1950) author, playwright and critic. 1925 Nobel Prize Laureate in Literature.
This can be applied to almost everything - When the only tool you own is a hammer, every problem
begins to resemble a nail. - Abraham Maslow (1908-1970) psychologist.
This from a General, a President, and a Republican! Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense,
a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed. The world
in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of laborers, the genius of its scientists,
the hopes of its children.... This is not a way of life at all, in any true sense. Under the cloud of
threatening war, it is humanity hanging from an iron cross.
- Dwight D. Eisenhower (1890-1969) 34th President 1953-1961
Republicans want small government just small enough to fit inside your bedroom. - June 4, 2003 Jan Schakowsky U.S. Representative(D-IL)
The state can't give you free speech, and the state can't take it away. You're born with it, like your eyes, like your ears. Freedom is something you assume, then you wait for someone to try to take it away. The degree to which you resist is the degree to which you are free...
- Utah Phillips, citing Joseph Campbell
The truth for a change - I'm also not very analytical. You know I don't spend a lot of time thinking about myself, about why I do things. said George Bush, as reported in the June 5 New York Times.
